MYWAY
REVIEW DETAILS
Step 1
Click here for a list of all of the tournaments with links to all of the club communication and a link for the tournament flyer. All necessary information will be included here. The payment amount will be specified on the flyer and often varies for novice/open. There is an additional $0.50 processing fee and 3.2% credit card fee added by Sports Engine that is unavoidable. This amount will be calculated and provided to you on each tournament page.
REGISTER
Step 2
To Register:
-
Go to the MYWAY registration link (available Monday at 9 PM when it goes live). We recommend registering early as tournaments can fill up quickly.
-
Select your tournament, log in to SportsEngine, and pay the tournament fee directly to MYWAY.
Important:
Do not pay for a MYWAY card or club fee. Only pay the tournament fee listed on the flyer
If you need help, refer to the written tutorial by Mike Nidiffer or the video tutorial by Mike Redington.
INFORM THE CLUB
Step 3
After Registering:
-
Email the following information to clarkstonwrestlingclub@gmail.com to confirm your MYWAY card and get added to the weight verification list:
Example:
-
WK – Camden Place – 4/8/2015 – 57.1 – Open
WEIGH IN
Step 4
-
Weights are recorded on Monday or Tuesday during your practice, before registration closes at 10 PM Thursday.
-
Your wrestler must be at or below the “Scratch weight” on our scale. Some tournaments offer a “weight allowance,” but it’s just to prevent dehydration or skipping meals to make weight.
IMPORTANT NOTE: -
MYWAY audits weight at post-season tournaments. If your wrestler doesn’t make weight during an audit, they’ll be disqualified and will need to weigh in at all future tournaments.
-
If this happens again, the whole club could be audited at every tournament.
REMINDER FOR PARENTS: -
If you won’t be at the scale, remind your wrestler to ask to be weighed in.
-
If you haven’t communicated with us, your wrestler won’t be on the list.
-
A wrestler’s weight only counts if the coach writes it down.
WAIVER
Step 5
For Your First Tournament:
-
Affiliation & Waiver: You’ll need to accept the invitation to join Clarkston Wrestling Club on SportsEngine (look for the first email).
-
After your wrestler registers for their first tournament, we will buy their MYWAY card (when MyWay was selected when you paid for the competitive package). You’ll receive a waiver from SportsEngine (second email).
Your wrestler cannot compete until the waiver is signed. This only needs to be done once per season.
-
If you didn’t receive the email, contact us and we will check. We use the primary email from your club registration with Clarkston Community Ed. If you want a different email, just let us know at clarkstonwrestlingclub@gmail.com.
CHECK BRACKETS
Step 6
Please check your wrestler’s bracket at 7 PM the night before the tournament to ensure everything is correct.
If there’s an issue, email clarkstonwrestlingclub@gmail.com so I can fix it with the pairer that evening, not the morning of the event.
Trackwrestling Help:
If you’re unsure how to navigate TrackWrestling, use this tutorial to learn how to find your bracket and mat assignment.
If Your Wrestler is Sick:
-
Email the club right away. With enough notice, we may be able to remove them from the bracket and issue a refund.
-
Refunds are not given for same-day withdrawals due to illness or injury, and are subject to approval by the regional host and pairer.
COMPETE
Step 7
Tournament Day:
-
All location details and start times are on the MYWAY flyer linked to each event.
-
We’ll create a private group chat for tournament updates and to coordinate warm-ups. This helps prevent the team chat from getting cluttered.
-
It's important to warm up together to build team spirit. If you don’t see the group chat, try updating or reinstalling TeamSnap to fix any glitches.
-
If a coach is unavailable at match time, you or your wrestler can alert the referee, who may delay the match and announce it on the PA. This happens in larger clubs and is nothing to worry about. Matches will not happen without a coach present.
What You Need:
-
Headgear, singlet, and shoes. Headgear can be bought at Dunham’s, Dick’s or Amazon. Adjust headgear before the match.
-
If your wrestler wears braces, a mouth guard is required.
-
Trim nails and groom facial hair.

WHY THE STRICT TIMELINE?
Please understand that we aren’t being sticklers about this for the sake of being sticklers. There are a lot of moving parts and we need to have the registration finalized and payments in by Tuesday night to allow for these other actions:
-
Mike Redington, our volunteer registrar, has to obtain your wrestlers MYWAY card if we don’t yet have it for your wrestler and the waiver must be signed before we can finalize registration.
-
We need to ensure we have enough coaching coverage for everyone competing.
-
If you are new to wrestling, this allows us to coordinate extra support for you so that you don’t feel like you’re flying blind.
-
The group chat on TeamSnap can be finalized sooner to allow for conversation and team Support.
ELIGIBILITY FOR MYWAY REGIONALS/STATES
MYWAY requires participation in 2 MYWAY individual tournaments (location, division and weight class do not matter) in order to qualify to compete at Regionals. Dual tournaments and other wrestling league tournaments (war zone, MMWA, etc.) do not count. Regionals separates combined age groups and drops novice division. Anyone that does not qualify to go to states can attend Future Stars as their final competition with the club.
